Malpractice Stress Syndrome

Is very similar to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and elicits very similar symptoms - flashbacks, nightmares, frightening thoughts, emotional numbness, guilt, depression, loss of interest in activities, easy startling, tension, angry outbursts.  Feelings of losing control, worry about loss of livelihood, potential loss of assets/reputation, and anxiety around legal proceedings are common.  Professional counselling can aid with the emotional impact of litigation and disciplinary procedures.
